Seeds of Glory
devotional psalms of praise
"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead..."
God has told us that all of creation testifies of His nature. This isn’t pantheism - that God is in all things - or a deification of the creation itself. Rather, His creation is designed to point back to who He is: “His invisible attributes” (Rom. 1:20). I refer to these as the “Seeds of [His] Glory” planted all around us.
I don’t know about you, but whenever I walk, or hike or ski, or sit by the fire with my cat, I see the world around me and I reflect on the Creator. I look at an enormous mountain ash tree with its clusters of brilliant, vermillion berries and I marvel that the Creator of all fashioned that majestic tree out of a tiny seed. Or I watch the comically charming flocks of California quail flushed out of the underbrush, racing to and fro across the lawn, and I smile to see our God’s creatures - so intricately formed and perfectly functioning - testifying to His creative ability and His sense of humor.
These posts are my own reflections on His creation - like a prayer or psalm of praise - that points me back to who He has said that He is, in His Word.
